90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death & Life

I also agree with what some of the others are saying...this was not at all what I had expected. I have read MANY books like this and I always finish them within a day because I'm so interested but I have to be honest...I got a little bored with this one (sorry!). If you're looking for books on near death experiences (NDE), I would not recommend this at all; there are much better options out there. However, if you are looking for a story on what happens AFTER the NDE, then this might be for you.

If I got anything out of this book it was as a Christian we all struggle with our faith, and it helped with getting out of that "funk." It also showed me that even pastors can struggle with their faith, which always seems unlikely to the congregation.

I thought this book was okay. I didn't really care for how it was written, but I'm sure most would disagree. I guess I expected something more. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just didn't give me the "wow" factor. I struggled a little with getting through it and forced myself through the last couple chapters.

I absolutely loved the book, 90 MINUTES IN HEAVEN by Don Piper. The book was recommended by a co-worker, who is also a Christian. I am so glad that I read it. My mother passed away 2 years ago and my father preceded her 24 years prior. Also that when my time time comes, I will be reunited with them. This gives me a lot of hope, as I continue to go through the grieving process. I am convinced that they are together along with their siblings, aunts, uncles, parents who preceded them in death. This book was an easy read, I finished in maybe 3 hours. It was so inspiring and it shows what a Godly man Reverend Piper really is. Thank you again for this wonderful testimony.

I did not realize I had ordered a book with only excerpts from the original. It's ok for what it is, but I had to purchase the whole book too, which is what I wanted.

Don Piper begins his book with a wreck that changed his life when his card is struck and he spends 90 minutes in heaven near Houston, TX. His story is engrossing. He takes you on the journey through his rehabilitation and how he helps others. His story is incredible and breathtaking. You hear about his 90 minute experience, but about all the medical rehab, and his families struggles, finally the skeptics he deals with in talking about his experience. He is a great writer, and very interesting. His story confirms my faith.
