Amazingly Useful
I'm a history minor in college and am starting to get into those history classes that ask for a lot of papers. The teachers said that we would be using the Chicago style to cite our work. A few of the students in the classes along with myself had never heard of the style before so one of the teachers mentioned this book. It helped me so much! It explains what to do and gives examples right away for you to work with when citing work. The only difficulty I had was using the table of contents, but it doesn't take long to work out that issue. Otherwise great book. If you do anything that involves writing when it comes to history, you should have this book! 2008-06-28

A Good Refernce Manual
This is more of a reference book than a sit-down-and-read-through book. It provides proper formatting for footnotes, in-text citations, and bibliography, and gives some guides for planning, structuring, and writing papers. If you're looking for a book that is a little better for how to craft arguments and progress through a paper logically, "The Craft of Research" is better for those reasons. Still, this is a convenient book to have on the shelf for reference, especially with proper citation. 2008-04-26

Improvement over last excellent edition
The latest edition of this useful manual is a further improvment over the last edition. It is easier to find information and has additional information that is very helpful. 2008-04-13

User-friendly manual for the best, most flexible reference style
I can't compare this edition to the previous ones as I've never owned the old ones but I can say this manual is very user-friendly. I bought it only seeking a comprehensive manual of style for a bibliography/referencing, which it has. But I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it has very useful information about how to tackle the research process as well. The manual is extremely comprehensive without being confusing. The aesthetics are great. Also, the Chicago manual style is better than APA and MLA in my opinion, and I've used them all. A good tool for budding researchers and students alike. 2008-04-02

A Manual for Writers of Research Papers, Theses, and Dissertations, Seventh Edition: Chicago Style for Students and Researchers
My promotor gave this book to me when I got stuck with writing my dissertation. I wish I had read this book earlier! Why didn't my professors tell me this before? This book makes studying fun, because you learn more from the material you study. This book really helps you to structurize your research and write in a clear and proper way. And also a good manual that you will go back to time and time again for detailed help. I just even bought a second copy of this book for my son and have recommended it to other scolars. 2008-03-11
