Awesome Cookbook
I love how "down home" this recipe book is. I used a few recipes so far and love the results. Trisha shares great stories about herself and her family and makes you really feel a part of the experience.

Check it out at the library first.
If you are looking for a book with new recipes you probably check this out of the library first. The recipes are not new and v-e-r-y basic. Otherwise it is a compendium of southern cooking that most of us grew up with and don't even have written down we've made them so often. If you know a new Southern bride who is not a cook this would make a great gift.

Great for Transplants to the South
My family has had a lot of fun with this cookbook. The photography is outstanding. There are great new recipes to try (ribbon meatloaf, cocoa cake with carmel icing) and old recipes that Trisha does better (biscuits, sausage balls). As a transplant to the South, we are enjoying Southern staples that are new to us (cheese straws) and look forward to trying all the recipes.

Best cookbook I own
Every recipe in this book is awesome. If you haven't tried the Cocoa Caramel cake you are missing out.
