Obama
Ideology aside, this is an exceptionally well written book that can be enjoyed by readers on both sides of the political aisle. Obama offers his views on a number of hot political issues, from education to technology to energy independence and so on. He also offers a history of his ascent to the US Senate, and his experience once he was there.
It's a serious book that is peppered with heartwarming anecdotes from his family and personal experiences. One such anecdotes occurs immediately after a vote on a nuclear non proliferation issue. He calls his wife, Michelle, to share the good news about the outcome of the bill. She is nonplussed by the affair and simply asks him to please pick up ant traps on his way home from work. He pauses and reflects on whether Ted Kennedy or John Kerry ever had to buy ant traps on their way home from work.
All told, it's a very good read that can be enjoyed by both Democrats and Republicans.

a must read
The President-Elect is much more than his 'supporters' might lead you to believe. An insightful man with a balanced and reasonable approach to many issues. This book should be read by all Americans to get a feel for the man who will next guide this country. He's not perfect and he points that out, but his thoughts are well worth pondering. Hopefully his 'supporters' will give him a chance to lead with the same objective thoughtfulness he expresses in this book. 2008-12-21

"The Thing With Feathers?"
This one is great for reading aloud with your family on long trips. Obama, as a writer, is an easy read. He packages his thoughts neatly and explicity, so you can pick up the conversation again at any point without losing the gist of it. You feel as if he's allowing you to really get to know him for who he is, and not for who a high priced publicist would want you to know. This book is exciting, and if you care about this country, it fosters that... if you haven't cared in the past, you will now. 2008-12-21

Palin for president of 2012!
While its good to know we will have our first Mexican in office, it'd be nice to see a good and talented politician like Sarah Palin. She knows what's best for America and the world. 2008-12-21
