Gets your attention from the first page!
Was an easy but exciting read. A different take on vampyres with teenage humor throughout!! 2008-12-09

Marked (House of Night, Book 1)
I like the whole House of Night Series. Very fast and exciting read. I would caution that this is a book for young adults not pre-teen or young teens because of language and sex. Zoey Redbird has a great story to tell. 2008-12-08

NOT for young girls
Even though this series is well written and has an interesting concept. I feel it is glamorizing on the "twilight" coat-tails, and is hoping that they can get the teenage buyers. But beware, this series is chocked full of sexual inuendos and actual graphic scenes. Such as a professor and student having sex. Completely inapporpriate to talk about in detail. Crushes are one thing, and have been around for awhile, but this story line goes too far! I have read all the way to the third book and was continued to be dissapointed, as the story lines just got more graphic one right after the next. Please don't let your young daughters read this one! It is NO WHERE close to the innocent TWILIGHT that you may have read. Don't be fooled! Not all vampire books are the same! 2008-12-07

Great series book!
Its a great beginning book for a series, its written to get to the good stuff w/o having to drag out just to make the book thicker! 2008-12-07

Not That Impressed
I have read dozens of young adult, urban fantasy, fiction, etc novels about vampires. Yes all of them seem similar, all of them may have semi-predictable outcomes after reading so many for so many years, but Marked is one of the books I had high hopes for, only to be disappointed. There's plot, action, originality, but to be totally honest the writing style did not do it justice. I felt like i've read fanfictions that were more engaging, this just seemed to combine pure chick lit with vampirism. Decent for a start, but out of all the books my sister has let me borrow, this is the only one I haven't read, and one of the only books I tell people to think twice about reading. 2008-12-04
