Betrayed (House of Night, Book 2)

In our second story, Zoey Redbird has become more than just "special" - she's been gifted with paranormal powers by the Vampyre's goddess, Nyx and has a unique mark that no other fledgling has (a fledgling is the stage before becoming a Vampyre. It is hard on all fledglings and many die in the process known as the "change". A mark is a moon-shaped figure that appears on teenagers foreheads when they are turned into a fledgling.) Zoey's life grows more complicated at the House of Night (a Vampyre finishing school) while she juggles three different boys, all of whom she is deeply attracted to, trying to cure her constant desire for blood (something that a fledgling at her age is NOT supposed to have!), leading the schools "club" called the dark daughters she is definetly in over her head!
But something else is happening to her and the House of Night - fledgling are dying and Zoey has been seeing them! And there's something else: Who can Zoey REALLY trust?

This is an excellent sequal to the first book "Marked". I have an educated guess that if you try out this book you will enjoy it so please give it a try!

Another great addition to the series. It defines the characters to who they really are and their stand point in the story. The Cast Ladies know what there doing. This and Twilight (of course) are the only series about vampires worth reading (so far) in my opinion. It will have you hooked from the very begining only to have you swimming with thirst for more.

Definitely worth reading!

Betrayed was one of the best books I've read so far this year. I couldn't put it down once I started reading it! If you've ever read a Gossip Girl book or a simple vampire flick..This is the best of both worlds. The characters are very well developed and there's never a dull moment between them. Even their pets have a unique personality! The plot is over the span of a couple weeks, but it flies right by. It's fast paced and filled twists and turns. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. :)

Betrayed is the second book in the House of Night series and it is good. Zoey Redbird has to face tough choices and face what she can and can not reveal to her friends. And you will be surprised at who becomes her enemy and who becomes her allies.

I actually returned this book. I got to page 60 and just could not bring myself to read any further. I cared nothing for the characters and found it way to simple. The constant pop culture references bothered me; they just dumbed down the book. There are many other young adult books that are much better and more original.
