Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day: The Discovery That Revolutionizes Home Baking

I guess the usefulness of this book really depends on what type of baker you are. Are you trying to make the best possible loaf of bread or do you just want bread fast? Saving time sounds nice. Artisan bread whenever you want it sounds nice, but the truth is this book is yet another marketing gimmick that reduces a word like "artisan" to meaninglessness. I did give the book two stars because the recipes do produce bread, and some of it is not bad. It doesn't compare to real artisan bread, though. I doesn't even compare to the "famous" no-knead bread... I found the time saved was not much of an advantage. Let's face it, real artisan bread does take some time, some artistry, and if you don't have the time I'd recommend buying it from your local bakery. If you really want to bake some good bread try Peter Reinhart's excellent book. The Bread Baker's Apprentice: Mastering the Art of Extraordinary Bread

A friend higly recommended this book to me since Our family enjoys a good loaf of bread with dinner. I'm so glad I purchased the book! The recipes are so good! In fact, they're better than the grocery store's bakery breads! And it I'd so much cheaper to make at home!! The recipes are simple but great tasting! I higly recommend this book!

Anybody who likes to bake and eat home made bread will love this book. It is easy to follow as it gives detailed explanations, and the recipes really work.
