A Home Run
I only discovered Michael Connelly a couple of years ago when I got one of his audiobooks from the library. I realized that his books are perfect to listen to while driving, and have listened to many since that first one.

But.... I absolutely could not wait to get "The Brass Verdict" on audio (there were 65 people ahead of me on the library waiting list) so I got the "real" book. Suffice to say that I was up until 2 AM finishing it. What a great story, with lots of clever twists and turns and an intricate plot. I loved how the author inserted Harry Bosch, the longtime hero of Connelly's other novels, into the book.

This book gave me hours of reading pleasure and delivered a satisfying ending. What more can one ask for from an author?

Great Mystery Writer
I have read just about all of Michael Connelly's books and he once again has done a superb job. His books are great thrillers and his using both of his main characters together in this book makes for an exceptional mystery.

One of Connelly's Best
I've read all of the author's books and count myself as a big fan, and it's difficult for me to say one of his books is better than the next. However, "The Brass Verdict" rises above an already fantastic series of works. This book was truly great; a real page-turner, and I was sorry to have it end.

Connelly is a master of the Less is More school of writing; he says what he has to say succinctly without excess verbiage. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Connelly at a book signing a few years ago and spoke with him for a while. Great writer, humble person. This book is highly recommended.

Ordinary
I'm sorry to say I really didn't enjoy The Brass Verdict all that much. That's what happens when you write a book a year. It gets to be a hollow exercise. You can read this book really fast because you will not miss much in terms of writing, psychology and wit. I liked the Lincoln Lawyer so I am surprised that the second in the series is so ordinary.
