If you want to get all the details missed in the movie Interview with a Vampire or just find out what happened after it, this set is for you. If you saw the movie Queen of the Damned, PLEASE read the book. The story was changed for Hollywood so it doesn't follow the books. You'll be caught up in the characters lives from the moment Lestat is introduced. Lestat is the main character through most of the books but he's the most interesting of them all. Interview starts with the making of Louis. The next book tells the story of the Vampire that made Louis, Lestat. Queen tells you how it all started and almost ended for the whole world. The Body thief takes you on an adventure through Lestat's body and mind. Once you pick them up, you'll have a hard time putting them down because Anne Rice does a magnificent job setting the scene and making you see through the eyes of a demon. And yet, you envy them, you fear for them and eventually love them for the humans that they still want to be. If you appreciate a good story, pick up this set.

He believes himself to be damned, a creature of the devil, with no right to even exist. He tells how the fascinating Lestat made him a vampire, of their clashes and uneasy coexistance. Lestat is unpredictable, sometimes unbelievably cruel, while Louis is so human it hurts. And when the child Vampire Claudia enters, things become darker and more dramatic than ever before.

The rich descriptions of colonial New Orleans, of Paris and the eternal night are a true delight to read, and well worth the time.

The next books in the series belong not to Louis but to Lestat himself, out to defend his name and tell his side of the story. From now on Lestat is the star of the show, and he would not have it any other way. Lestat is character who demand attention, sometimes even speaking directly to his audience. He is completely different from Louis, and so the books are different. But always there is the darkness, and the eternal night.

She puts so much emotion, character, and real life worries into these books that you will come away swearing that all the characters are alive and roaming in LA.

For those who are just starting into her beloved vampire chronicles be aware that these are not the only books.. she does continue the stories of our beloved characters.

I love evey one one Anne Rice's book's. She makes you feel like you are right in the book.

Queen of the Damned is the best!!!! Queen Akasha makes you pitty all those who sufferd for her. And her big plan's for men makes you shiver.

If you've seen the movies "Interview With the Vampire" or "Queen of the Damned," you've only had a taste of what Anne Rice's vampires are about. Whether it's the Brat Prince Lestat, human-like Louis, or wise Ancient Marius, you will come to love each one for their faults and strengths when you have finished these four books, as told by Louis in the first book, and Lestat in the next three. You will crave to read the other novels that come after-"Memnoch the Devil," "The Vampire Armand," "Merrick," "Blood and Gold," "Pandora," and "Vittorio the Vampire"-because you want to know the story behind all these characters that Anne Rice has painted only vague pictures of until given the chance to tell their story in their own words. Indulge and believe, for Lestat and Louis have strange tales to tell.
