Shameful
Beatrice Sparks is the author/editor of a serious of "anonymous" teen diaries. They are meant as "warnings" to children. In fact, they are not based on real diaries and the only one that actually was, she used about 10% of the journal entries and added a Satanic theme which horrified the family.
Now I am aware that children should be taught such things as drugs are bad, teenage pregnancy is not preferable, don't kill yourself etc. However, I take offense when presented in this manner. Children learn best from the truth not extreme propaganda. I also take offense that many libraries (especially school libraries) list this book as non-fiction, when in fact it is a work of fiction.

Review by Sydney
Annie's Baby is the diary of a pregnant fourteen year old girl, with an abusive self aborted wealthy boyfriend. The diary goes through the time that she with being a abusive relationship and her pregnancy and being a single teenage mother slowly she finds her self and patches the wholes up with her own mother.
When I first read this book I thought this was extremely informative Annie's Babies teaches about teenage relationships and the abuse in a relationship. It shows how much a girl will do for a guy, Even if she does get pregnant, I love this book because it's an actually soul poring out there feelings. It's not an adult telling a story of how you shouldn't do this and that, it's an actually teenage girl that went through this. It's a real page turner because it has that kind of mysterious adventures thing. I always say that a good book needs to get some kind of emotion that this book has is the emotions of happiness, sadness, anger, and excitement. Like when she tells Danny that she is pregnant and he says that she only got pregnant to get money and kicks her out the house that made me feel sad and angered all at once. It felt like I wanted to punch him and like help Annie. I just gives you three emotions. And another example of this book giving emotion is when she helps her friend Tammie learn how to read so that she will get a decent job for her and the baby. That made me feel happy and sad, happy because she was helping a friend sad because all her life she had to help out her brothers and sisters so she never got the opportunity to learn how to read, I don't want to give away to much of the book for those people that haven't read it but it's just a page turner happy sad book that will really make you think and cry.

Annie's Baby
This book was a good book to read. This book was good to read because is about things that are most commonly happenning in our society with teenagers. This book Annie's Baby is mostly about a girl named Annie that meets a boy named Danny and she is in love with this boy.Danny is nice to her at first but then later on he rapes her and call her mean things and call her dirty and kicks her out of his house but she loves him so much that she was willin to get on her knees and beg for his forgiveness. So they are still together and they start having sexual intercourse without protection and Annie gets pregnant.Annie is so desperate and doesn't know what to do, at first she just can't believe that she is pregnant that she takes two tests and they both come out positive.Annie with no one to talk to so she pours out her feeling to her diary. This book is written in a diary form.I really liked this book because it was based on things that happen in our society and it teaches teenagers to think twice before you do something and that saying no doen't make you dumb it just makes you the bigger person. 2007-01-02

Beatrice Sparks spins web of fiction
She was the editor of Go Ask Alice and that was proven to be fiction as were several other of her 'diary' books. But they continue to publish this woman's works of fiction as non-fiction. Do the research, find the truth. 2006-11-30

So Sad
i started reading this book and I couldnt put it down. I am still not sure if this is really a true story. If it is then I fel bad for poor Annie. You really feel her pain and happness throughtout the story. I thought she went a little overbord a few times. But I understand that she was all alone and just wanted someone to love her. I think every girl should read this book. This is a story that will change the way you tink about life. This story made me realize that life is short so love the people around you and never give up on yourself!! 2006-11-04
