Annie's Baby: The Diary of Anonymous, a Pregnant Teenager

This book was horrible. Halfway through the book i was wondering why i hadnt blown my brains out, and then i remembered that it was the zoloft i was taking!

Annie's Baby is an overall good read(thus the three stars). But 'Annie's' writing is odd. Like 'Alice' and 'Kim' she repeats things 3 times. But the one thing I LOVE about this book is when 'Annie' finds out she's related to 'Dr. B' and automatically knows who she is. I also enjoyed the tape transcription things where her and Sparks talk. You can tell Sparks tries to portray herself as a do-good pyscholgist who would never try to scare kids out of doing things. Despite the unrealistic factor it's an o.k book.

I though that this book contained a fairly accurate sterotypical summary of a pregnant teen, however I feel like the 50 year old pyscologist are going a bit overboard with the whole pretend diary thing. Unlike go ask alice, I didnt for one seond consider it was real. This book is good if your just reading it for kicks, but if your reading it to get someones first hand expierance, I dont recomend it.

What I thought about the book was that it was good and interesting. It has important things in there that will help teenage girls that get raped but they don't want to tell nobody about it. When I read this book I was sad and so disappointed with Annie that she didn't tell her mom that Danny had raped her. If you're the kind of teenage girls that likes to read journal books I recommend this book but if you were pregnant I wouldn't if your happy about your pregnancy because Annie talks about aborting and that she didn't really want to have her baby and plus of what she did to her baby at mall when she leaves her there and then she screams at her and you wouldn't want to do those mistakes to your baby. But if you're a teenage pregnant girl and your not happy with it probably I would because at the end she realizes that after all she is happy with her baby and loves her a lot. I think that most of her mistakes happened because they way Danny was treating her and because she still was young when she had Lil' Annie and she didn't know how to handle taking care of her and because she wasn't so sure if she could be a good mother now that she had more responsibility and less of her own free time.

It was great but seems to have a bit of GO ASK ALICE voice in it though, and things like saying superduper who says superduper at 14?
