Good Night, Gorilla
I have lost track of how many copies I have bought of this title! It is my MUST gift for baby showers. I recently ordered ninety copies for a project called BOOKS AND BIBS. Every child born at our local hospital will receive GOOD NIGHT, GORILLA and a bib that has "Read to Me" on it! I am a retired elementary librarian and I can guarantee a positive response to this book used as a read-aloud. My not-quite-two year old granddaughter came home one evening and went all through her house calling "Rilla! Rilla! Where are you?" 2008-04-09

Great Night Time book
Some might not like the format of this book (lacks a printed story) but I found it fun. I'm not even the most imaginitive person but I discovered my 2 year old son enjoyed this book whether I changed the versions of the story or told it the same. This book was enough of a hit with him that I was able to retire a worn copy of a Dr. Suess book that had become part of his nighttime routine. Great night time reading book! 2008-04-08

So simple, So fun!
There isn't a lot of new vocabulary to learn through this book, but it is so much fun and I think it will really grow with your child. The illustrations are bright and the story is cute. My 13-month old has loved it from day one! 2008-04-08

Full of creativity!
This book doesn't need many words to get the point across. The illustrations are priceless and the creativity is seeping across the pages. My 10-month-old has a favorite board book already -- it's this one! 2008-04-07

Disappointed, Sending it back!
I ordered two copies of this book based on all the positive reviews (one as a gift and one for my 9 month old), they are both being sent back. We have a collection of great board books this one is not worthy among them and it is not good enough to be given as a gift. I can't understand how people rave about this book, the text is boring and unimaginative, the art is not very good and the overall feeling of animals in cages does not make for pleasant dreams ( the animals do end up back in their cages for the night!). There are tons of other great books in this range keep looking... We ordered Time For Bed by Mem Fox and it has light years more character and charm.
For the record I don't spend my time knocking children's books. If people are going to pay good money for something they have a right to know peoples opinions.
I admit the gorilla and mouse are kind of cute...but not cute enough for us.
