Great Serial Novel......
After reading "The Green Mile," I was trying to, look for a serial novel I noticed I found "The Blackstone Chronicles," I did look at it I then decided to wait. So I went to the library and got Parts 1-4 and I was amazed John did a great job discrbing the characters I noticed it was, going to be ABC-TV Mini-Series I haven't seen it so...hope they air it.

I liked this book it scares, you and I was horrified so if you loved The Green Mile you'll like this.

I was on the edge of my seat!
From start to finish, cover to cover this was by far one of the best series of novels I've ever read. Once I started I couldn't put the book down, and once, finished...I had to rush to get the next in the series. I was scared and excited and WOW! Great story, wonderfully obscure characters and a surprise ending! Who could want more? ME!!

One of the Best Series Ever!!!
I read the Blackstone Chronicles when they first came out.Every month I'd be in suspense, the waiting and antcipation for the next part to come out was almost painful.John Saul is probably my favorite writer. The way he weaves the past into the present is brillant.Actually this was his first work I read and now I devour everyone of his works that I can get my hands on!!!!

A chilling page turner...another Great Saul!!
Let me just start by saying that I LOVE John Saul!! And this series was great! It kept me turning, page after page and I could not put it down. Here I am, just finishing and still recovering from lack of sleep for all the time I put in to finishing this book!! I was nervous and chilled as well as angry at times and I even found a few humerous parts. And I love the way our dear Mr. Saul would throw characters from his other books in there. This book is basically about the past of the Insane Asylum and the horrible things that went on and the evil doctor that ran the place. Now, years later, they want to conserve it and a mystery gifts start popping up...as well as a little added evil.

he's at it again!
I LOVE John Saul- his writings are remarkably spooky and gripping. His Chronicles was in line with the rest of his novels. Although the plot was a bit predictable, it still had me flipping through the pages. It was quick reading (maybe just because I couldn't put it down) and I felt satisfied when I finally put it down. I highly recommend this book along with all J.Saul's others. I especially like his book "Monster"...that one takes the prize.
