You Will Get Goosebumps
I read the six-month installments in 1997. This is vintage John Saul -- the delightfully insidious terror that overtakes a sleepy little village. These books left me wanting more. I thought he did an excellent job of building the suspense and creating very interesting characters. What really made these installments so wonderful was the reintroduction of characters from previous books. I certainly hope John Saul does another Blackstone series or novel -- we would love it! 2000-08-02

Great Story!
I like the way that John Saul wrote this book. I'm glad that I bought all 6 at one time, because I don't think that I could have waited for the next one to come out. The ending could of been better, but I think that the book itself was fantastic! 2000-07-17

A good, quick read with suspense!
I loved this book. I bought it after playing the video game based on the book. It was excellent reading...a good book to read over a relaxing weekend. Nearly impossible to put down! 2000-07-16

Entertaining to say the least
Although it gets off to a rocky, "unscary" start, the Blackstone Chronicles is truly an amazing collection. The town of Blackstone's past begins to mercilessly haunt its present-day citizens as odd objects appear in their homes. Tale by tale, the tension begins to build and suspense is delightfully unbearable at some points in the story. Although the first three chronicles have shaky plots and boring characters, the final ones are a stark contrast. If nothing else, the innocent romance that develops between the characters Oliver and Rebeccas is very sweet, and adds to the texture of the Chronicles. I highly recommend this book to anyone, and anyone reading it should NOT be discouraged by the dullness of the first stories. 2000-07-06

The Blackstone Chronicles
Whew! What a read - could not put the book down! I'm sorry I didn't read it when the book was first published 'one chapter at a time'...... I can imagine the anticipation of when the next one hit the shelves! But hey at leat I got to read it all in one sitting! 2000-07-04
