Forged By Fire
For Gerald, life is a nightmare that he can never wake up from. When Gerald was just beginning to forget all of his painful memories, his loving aunt dies. Gerald is forced into living with an abusive family that he cannot seem to get rid of. Jordan, Gerald's stepfather, abuses Gerald and his little stepsister, Angel, and even sometimes, Gerald's mother. Gerald and Angel become closer together and help each other through the hard times. It is hard for Gerald to keep up with Jordan and his substance-addicted mother around. With all of the things, Gerald is preventing Jordan; he has enough hard times, as he gets older. Soon enough, Gerald will painfully learn that sticking up for his little sister was always the right thing to do.
When you read this heart-warming book, the tears can never end. When I read Forged by Fire, it was an amazing story that I just did not want to put down. It is the kind of book that can make anyone have sad emotions for Gerald's unsuccessful life. It has a great theme and taught me a lot about what can happen if you do not have the best parenting skills. I think that many people that like action, sad stories, and a happy ending, this book is a good choice for them!

Forged By Fire
Forged by Fire, written by Sharon M. Draper, is a dramatic, sad, and terrifically told fictional drama about the tragic life of a young boy, Gerald, and his sister, Angel. When Gerald was three years old and living with his crack-addicted mother in an aged apartment, he accidentally torched the house on fire while playing with his GI-Jo. In a matter of seconds, the whole house was a flame.
Now Gerald has to live with his only living relative, Aunt Queen, because his mother had to go to jail for leaving a poor child alone. The fear that you feel for Gerald and Angel controls your body and tells you to keep on reading. He gets to see his mother for the first time in 6 years on his 9th birthday, and she is not alone. She has an abusive husband and even a daughter, Angel. If Gerald is going to get through life with all of this hurt coming back into his life, he will have to be very strong. Pain far from his imagination will be a part of his life. I would recommend this book to any teenager because it shows how kids can be treated in life. Gerald learns that life is like a car crash, you never know if you are going to survive or not. To know how he learns from his pain and struggles, read Forged by Fire because it keeps you on the edge of your seat after every word.

Forged By Fire
Forged by fire by Sharon Draper is a book about a boy who lives with his mother and abusive step-father. When Gerald was young he set a fire in his mother's house while she was out, he hid behind a couch to keep away from the burning flames then he finds himself in the hospital. His aunt takes custody of him after the incident. He lived with her for many years until something tragic happened so his mother and new step-father had no choice but to take him in. He didn't know much about his step-father Jordan but he knew he was hiding something. He also finds out he has a little sister but she would never take off her leggings and she would be very nervous around Jordan nothing could prepare Gerald for the next few years of his life.
Forged by Fire is fiction but it deals with real life situations. It is easy to tell when something bad is going to happen and it is easy to tell when something good is going to happen and not only that the book keeps you anticipating you always want o know what's going to happen next.

Forged by Fire
If you like action and adventure books you should read Forged by Fire.
It starts out with three year old Gerald whose mother is a crack-addict.
This book takes you through Gerald's adolescence, as he has many struggles. Like his Aunt Queen who took him in after his mom was arrested. Gerald learns different things throughout the book like his mom being out of jail for five years, learning he has a half sister named Angel, and fighting his child molester step-father. Also Gerald's friend that helped him through the bad times dies.
If you like action I seriously consider this book to you. This book has as much action and sadness as a James Bond movie. This book has sadness, it has violence, and it has many real life situations.
Also this book has no racial discrimination or anything like that.
The theme of this book is sadness, life, and violence. This book takes place in Cincinnati and it takes you through Gerald's life through a toddler to a high school basketball player. Also in this book bad luck follows Gerald everywhere he goes. Like right before his Aunt Queen dies, he learns that his mother has been out of jail for five years and has gotten married to a child molester named Jordan Sparks.
This book is so amazing; I recommend it to anyone that likes to read anything. A quote from the book is "I was glad he was gone."
