Could This Be A Rip Off?
There is a classic book called "50 Simple THINGS You can Do to Save The Earth." It is I belive, one of the best selling environmental guides of all time. Does changing a word to WAYS in this book's title equal original thought? I don't think so. Not much depth here...or new thinking. Maybe the title should be "Take Someone Else's Idea, Get the Green, and Live Rich."

A little disappointed ...
The book is really little more than a bullet list of ways to go green - in that respect it is useful for triggering ideas - but it does not really go into depth on anything or tell you how to do things. For this it simply points you to web sites, so it is a bit of a cop-out! Feels lacking in solid research by the author (he probably just "googled" everything in the book), feels like a rush-job. Disappointed to see biofuels recommended. Yes, let's run our cars on food while millions starve. That should work! 2008-04-17

Follow This Advice
David Bach is a best-selling author of books about how to get rich, who also happens to be passionate about saving the environment. His co-author, Hillary Rosner, is a respected journalist, who writes about environmental issues for several publications, including the "New York Times," "Seed" and "Audubon."
Their book, "Go Green, Live Rich," demonstrates Bach's belief that the best strategy today for gaining wealth is to go green. After all, securing wealth and securing the planet are both about securing the future, for ourselves and our families.
The sensible wealth strategy put forth in this book is based on the belief that "small daily savings can add up to a richer future." Very solid, tried-and-true financial advice that also happens to be green. Every time you turn off the lights, for example, you both save money and reduce global warming.
There's nothing really new environmentally in this book, but that's okay. The fifty green tips are the same ideas you've probably already read about in other books. What sets this book apart, and makes it a really important read, is that it analyzes the financial savings you'll experience by taking green actions in your life. Bach has calculated that if you implement only four of these tips, and invest those daily savings, you could earn nearly $700,000 in 30 years. That's worth doing even if you don't care about the environment at all!
This book not only dispels the myth that it costs more to go green; it actually shows you how to come out ahead by living green. And it has the numbers to prove it.
"Go Green, Live Rich" gives a great start for going green, but it's just a start. It points the reader in fifty great directions, but you'll need a lot more information to really implement these tips in your life. My recommendation: Use this book as a starting point, and an inspiration for turning green choices into green cash -- and then keep looking for additional green guidance.

Printed on Recycled Paper
To the person who gave the book 1 star and asked if it's printed on recycled paper.... YES it is, and the paper is called KnightKote Matte produced by SMART Papers. Kind of weird you gave the book 1 star and you obviously haven't even looked at it or else you'd know it's printed on recycled paper! 2008-04-13

Highly Recommended!
I'm fairly new to the "green scene" and I've got to say that I really love this book. The fifty tips offered are broken out into 11 different sections: Knowing Your Impact, Driving, Energy, Water, Real Estate, Shopping, Recycling, Family Values, Work, Investing and Giving back to green charities.
The author's tips are really useful and he backs it all up with solid stats (some very surprising ones too that really drive his points home...)
It's an easy read with each chapter summed up into specific actionable steps you can take...which for me is extremely helpful.
But the BEST part about Bach's book is that he shows you how to SAVE and actually EARN money by going green. I found this to be a unique perspective since the common misconception is that going green is expensive.
I highly recommend Go Green, Live Rich!
