Excellent book!
This book is amazing..Its so easy to read and so easy to understand. Goes through the chapters smoothly, providing all the information needed. Its especially helpfull to students but also can be used as a reference book. Most importandly, the illustration is impressive!!The tables, drawings, sketches and little pictures make it easier to memorize importand concepts and basic information and thus can make pharmacology fun!!

very good for coursework
I read this book along with my syllabus from BOD. This clears up some of the topics that aren't presented too clearly during BOD. It helped me do well in pharmacology. For the boards, this book should just be used as a reference if there are any concepts you don't understand in first aid.

Very good book for a review
But not a very deep insight look at drugs. Very good for side effects and used it a lot for the anti-neoplastic part of pharmacology.

It is very good at making difficult concepts easy to understand. I strongly recommend it.

Pick and Choose
This book falls short of being a comprehensive text of pharmacology if one is deeply interested in understanding the principles and foundations of the field. For FMGs taking the USMLE step 1, I honestly do not think that one "needs" to study the whole book to do well on the test. This is because the pharmacology questions on the test are in the context of a clinical scenario, which most FMGs will be familiar with.
If one is to pick and choose, my recommendation is to study the first few chapters on Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics, CNS, CVS, Respiratory, Renal. Antibiotics and Antineoplastics can be quickly reviewd in the First Aid to Step 1.
