Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste and Style (Tim Gunn's Guide to Style)

I loved this book and it really is like having Tim Gunn giving you advice. If you watch his shows then you know that voice and after reading this book, I trust his style. I read Stacey and Clintons book too and while it was good, Tim's book covered things they did not. It's not full of pictures trying to fit just the right body type but it talks about sizing and fit and how to go through your closet and weed out the good and the bad. I read it through the first time and then started on my closet and have been reading it again as I go along baging clothes that don't fit (and for me that was most of what's in my closet as I lost 30 pounds and had not bought any for years)and am continuing to read as I buy things that fit and work well for me, paying more attention to fit than size. The best wardorobe advice book I've read.

I absolutely loved this book! Being a woman that isn't in the junior style OR the womens style I felt like all my questions were answered & his advice is a breath of fresh air...BE YOU, just better.

This is a wonderfully refreshing look at fashion and ways to update and keep your personal style. The book is well written and greatly recommended for anyone trying to "figure out" their own personal style.

Timm Gunn's book is pure pleasure and reads exactly as Timm Gunn speaks. I had a smile on my face for the entire literary journey and was sad when it came to an end. This book is truly such a delight that I'd recommend it enthusiatically even if the substance of it was hooey. However, hooey it is not, and I have made strides in cleaning up my act by heeding this charming and knowlegable man's wisdom. Write another book, Tim, on any topic at all.

I love this book! First, because it's written by Tim Gunn. He has such a way with words. He's charming, witty and knows fashion. I would say, however, this book will likely not appeal to those 'learning' about fashion & attempting to discover they're own sense of fashion know-how, or to those who feel in need of a fashion makeover. I could be wrong...but it would seem someone who doesn't already understand the 'basics' of fashion, might think Tim is a tad wordy. I've long been into the do's & don't's of fashion (even been an 'unknowing' fashion victim in my lifetime (as have all of us at one time or another). But, Tim can always find something new with which to enlighten me even further. Thinning out my closet, for one. He makes such great sense...and in this hurried world where I once thought I needed everything to feel good, he made me understand why I've felt so BAD looking into a sinfully huge closet full of clothes, in a perpetual state of 'whining' about having NOTHING to wear! Less is more...he stresses this. And, as usual, he couldn't be more right! If you love Tim Gunn...heard him speak, seen him on television, etc., he leaves you wanting more. He simply oozes taste & style...while managing to never make others who don't share all his likes & dislikes, feel they are lesser than he. He's got too much class for this. This was a "winner" read for me. Two thumbs up, Tim!
