Mysterious Ways
I've been reading these lessons and letters that Tim so loving compiled for two years now, but never took a minute to thank him. Each of us will find pieces of our fathers on every page. Thank you Tim for this tribute and for every enlightening asnd entertaining Sunday morning. 2008-06-18

great book
Tim Russert just died. This is sad news for people. This book is good for memories. I liked Russert on tv. He was a great journalist. 2008-06-14

Do NOt read This Book Alone
When I started reading this, I had to put it down after only a few minutes and was glad my wife was home so I had someone to get a hug from. What a great book. A few days later, I picked it back up and could only read it again for only a few minutes. Go hug wife. She is beginning to understand. I then read for almost to the end, laughing, crying, and remembering my dad in many ways. Go hug wife. I recommend it to all, even if memories are not so great, or if they are great. Go hug someone and share the book with others. Do not put it on a shelf. 2008-03-19

russert
great book I gave copies to my son and son in law. both have new babies and I suggested they use some of the stories as a pattern in their life as a parent. 2008-02-08

a feel-good book
This is a simple book, much more about love than wisdom. The letters Tim includes are poignant and heartfelt. He clearly spent many months selecting the best ones. His personal stories about his father Russ and son Luke are strong glue holding the letters together. The book paints a wonderful portrait of shared humanity.
I listened to Wisdom of our Fathers unabridged on audio, narrated by Tim Russert and several other readers - male and female - who do a fine job delivering the character and emotion of the letters. My highest recommendation for this very 'human' work.
