master the case interview!!
Its a great book for preparing yourself for the case interview with consulting firms. The author really makes it an easy read with good humour so you don't get bored after reading the first chapter. The framework and system that he outlines gives you the best foundation to tackle any case that is thrown at you. A definite buy if you're going to a consulting interview.
- Read the book (more than once)
- Practice as many cases as you can (with friends, colleagues...)
- don't leave it to the last minute!!
With this book you'll have no trouble mastering the case.

Incredibly helpful for case interviews
I found this book incredibly helpful for my case interview with a consulting firm this fall. I only read it briefly, but the basic strategy laid out in this book is simple and easy to conceptualize (and therefore easy to remember).

I am planning to keep this book handy for future case interviews.

Excellent resource!
This is a great preperation guide for case interviews. The only short coming was that some case interviews were quite unstructured. I also suggest using the SCQ framework for framing the problems & issue based problem solving approach.

Great, thorough, entertaining case prep
Marc Cosentino does an excellent job preparing you for case interviews. He knows what he is talking about, and he presents the material in an entertaining way, too! I highly recommend this book for everyone, but especially for those recruiting for a job in the consulting industry. Cosentino's book definitely helped me in getting a job with a great consulting firm.

I strongly recommend this book.

Crash course to case interviews
After my first round of interviews with BCG, I googled for more cases to practice on and ordered Case in Point 5ed. First of all, the book explains a lot of the expectations of the interviewers, and how you should prepare for the interview. This was all news to me and very useful, since nobody had explained these things to me. Having botched interviews with two management consulting companies a year earlier, I now learned why.

The IVY system is good as a starting point, but could be simplified further. The cases offered in the book are very brief, and do not reflect the nuances in a real interview - especially the lack of time to think if the interviewer stresses you on with followup instructions. Some of the case solutions are also somewhat limited.

Having said all that, I think that the book was instrumental in helping me structure my approach in follow-up interviews. After three rounds and seven interviews, I received an offer to start with the BCG as an experienced hire. The book made all the difference to me, and as it is easy and fun to read, I warmly recommend it to all those who look for a career in management consulting!
