Distorted History
Sorry, but in light of what I know, I cannot in good conscious recommend this book. While Melissa Anelli's effort might be commendable, it doesn't paint a full picture of the Potter phenomenon, the outright omission of the Harry Potter Lexicon, and the Cauldron's past close association with the site is outright cruel, as well as revisionist history. Melissa Anelli's breach of journalistic ethics in certain areas, people need to become aware of, and thus, it makes this book not very credible in my eyes. I'll credit her in the book for this much, for acknowledging she wasn't the original webmaster of the Cauldron, but she's thrived off of the backs of other people's hard work. Ironically, she has prided herself as a journalist, when she has failed to live up to her obligation. It is also ironic that for a person who has been so morally outraged with others attempting to profit off of the Potter phenomenon, that she is attempting to do the same here. Don't bother with this book. If you must, I'd recommend getting it from a library, or a used book store for no more than a dime. But please don't line the pockets of the publisher or Melissa Anelli herself with money she clearly doesn't need. 2008-12-22

Not just for the fans
The book quickly captures your interest and displays so many interesting stories of fans infected with sharing their love of the series, in each of the their own creative ways. 2008-12-21

The Leaky Cauldron experience
If you have been a true Leaky fan and a huge fan of the books, then this book will give you inside information of both.
As a fan, I found Melissa's journey quite interesting and I dicovered thigs about my favourite HP site I never knew.

I LOVE this book!
This is the most informative and entertaining book I've ever read on Harry Potter and the fandom. Melissa Anelli is my hero, and I don't think anyone else could have written this better than her! I'm actually using it to write my term paper on how Harry Potter has changed the way people look at reading. (which I actually need to work on right now so I'll keep this short)
Great book. Great author. I love it!

Nice Insight Into the Fandom!
This book was a great quick read. I had only discovered Potter in 2004 and didn't start reading the series 'till '05. This really shows all aspects of the phenomenon that was happening before, way in the late '90s till this very year.
Exactly what I wanted. :)
